SALLAH: Buhari ‘Greets Nigerians’ From London, Presidency Claims

President Buhari being visited by his wife, Aisha and some government officials during his first medical pilgrimage to London. It was reported that his wife was not allowed to see him this time around

The Presidency, allegedly hijacked by a powerful cabal, on Saturday released an Eid-el-Fitri message, which it claimed was from President Muhammadu Buhari, who is still in a London clinic receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment since he departed the country on May 7 for medical leave.

The message meant for both Muslims and Christians urged them to resolve to live in peace and avoid making reckless statements.

The message released by his media aide, Garba Shehu, read:

“I am immensely grateful to God for his mercy in guiding us successfully to conclude another Ramadan fast. My greetings to all Nigerian Muslims and our brother Christians on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr.

“May the lessons of Ramadan namely; piety, self-denial, prayers and generosity to the poor and needy be with us for all time.

“I, again, appeal to all Nigerians to avoid reckless statements or actions against our fellow countrymen. We should all resolve to live in peace and unity in our great country, which is the envy of many less endowed nations.

“Happy Eid-el-Fitr”

Nearly two months since Buhari left a country he was voted to watch, and one that is now badly divided due to threats of secession and the Arewa Youths quit notice to Igbos, won’t it have been proper for the president to address Nigerians and calm the tension via a video message? Especially in these times when every mobile phone is capable of recording one.

Anyway, remarkable in the message purportedly from Mr Buhari, is that the president made no mention of his return date or any such plans.
