A former Governor of Taraba State, Mr. Danbaba Suntai, is dead. Ex-Commissioner of Information in the state, Emmanuel Bello confirmed his death in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mr. Bello, who served as commissioner under Suntai, said the “former governor died in the United States.”
The former governor had never really recovered since October 25, 2012 when his helicopter crashed in Adamawa State.
Born in Suntai, Bali local government area of Taraba on June 30, 1961, Mr. Suntai died just two days to his 54th birthday.
He had after the helicopter crash somehow completed his tenure in 2015 from sick bed – in Nigeria everything is possible.
After the crash, he was first taken to the Adamawa Standard German Hospital in Yola before he was transferred to the National Hospital Abuja on October 26, 2012 and then to a hospital in Germany.
He was later flown to a rehabilitation centre in the United States after he was discharged from the German hospital.
