Chelsea seem not to be amused by the prospect of losing Romelu Lukaku, who they still consider as their own, to rivals Manchester United. It has emerged that the Blues are ready to go at any length to bring the striker, considered as on of the best in the world, back to Stamford Bridge. Skysports reports that Chelsea have indicated that they are still firmly interested in the Belgian international by matching Manchester United’s £75m bid for Everton hitman.

It is understood that Lukaku’s agent, Mino Raiola, wants him to go to United but the player himself would prefer a move to Chelsea. Coach Antonio Conte is said to have become frustrated at the prospect of missing out on the Belgium international but Chelsea appear committed to re-sign Lukaku.

Now Lukaku must choose between suiting his agent’s wish and a sporting one to satisfy his long-held desire to return to Chelsea to prove that it was a mistake to have let him go in the first place.

Chelsea had signed him from Anderlecht for £18m in August 2011 but later loaned him out to West Brom and Everton, who subsequently paid £20m for him in July 2014.

Interestingly it was Jose Mourinho who sorted him out while at Chelsea, which saw him leave Stamford Bridge.

As things stand now, his club Everton is poised to benefit from a bidding war between two of the richest clubs in world football.
