Amid reports of violence, heavy rain and voter apathy, early returns from Saturday’s local government elections in Lagos State show that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) was has swept the polls.
The APC won the council election held in all the 20 Local Government Areas and the 37 Local Council Development Areas.
As at the time of filing this report, the party’s candidates had won the chairman position in Lagos Island LG, Badagry West LCDA, Epe LG, Eredo LCDA, Onigbongbo LCDA; Lagos Island East LCDA; Ikorodu LG, Ikorodu West LCDA; Badagry LG; and Ejigbo LCDA
