In a senseless waste of taxpayer’s money and tolerated by a government that promised prudent management of the Nation’s resources, seven selected governors and other government officials on Wednesday met with the ailing President Muhammadu Buhari as the presidency intensifies the propaganda that all is well with the president.

Mr. Buhari has been away from his duties as president since May 7, 2017 when he embarked on his second trip abroad in search of urgent medical care.

What the presidency fails to get however, is that what majority of Nigerians are saying is, President Buhari has been whittled down by his undisclosed ailment and therefore no longer the fit and proper person to take the nation forward – bearing in mind the rigours of governance.

CHECKPOINTCHARLEY therefore wonders how these photos, betraying a frail Buhari go to reassure those still in doubt about the president’s fitness.

The governors who met with Mr. Buhari in Abuja House in London on Wednesday are the governors of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, Ebonyi State, David Umahi, Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, and Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel.

The other governors are Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, and Kashim Shettima of Borno.

When you multiply that with a minimum of five aides, with which governors travel with, then you get a clear picture of unnecessary waste going on under Buhari’s watch.
