Parents of the six abducted pupils of the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla, Epe, heaved a sigh of relief on Friday as their children regained freedom.
No official statement has been released by the Police, giving details of the release, but CHECKPOINTCHARLEY gathered that the kids were freed in Ajakpa Community in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State after 64 days in the captivity of their abductors.
The pupils have been moved to the Ondo State Police Command headquarters in Akure, a police source said.
The police source insisted that no ransom was paid for their release.
The released children would be taken to the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu at the Ondo State Government House Akure by the security operatives, the source added.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had within the week assured parents of the abducted kids that they would soon be rescued.
