The maverick Senator from Arizona, John McCain, recently diagnosed with brain cancer, came back from medical recess to shatter the plan of President Donald Trump to repeal Obamacare by voting no in a Senate vote that took place in the early hours of Friday.
Two other Republicans also voted against repealing Obamacare. They are Susan Collins from Maine and Lisa Murkowski from Alaska.
The attempt to repeal failed on a vote of 49 to 51. All the democratic senators voted “no”.
It therefore means that the bill is dead for now and Obamacare remains the health law in US.
