Liverpool have suspended their chase of RB Leipzig mercurial midfielder, Naby Keita.
The Reds decided to suspend their interest after their second and final bid was turned down by the Bundesliga side two weeks ago.
Sources however told SKY that Liverpool would renew their interest should Leipzig change their stand.
This might be unlikely because a senior official at Leipzig said last week that Keita will “100 percent not be sold in this window.” He also revealed that Leipzig had already rejected a £67m offer from an unnamed club.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY understands that Liverpool’s final bid the Guinean was in the neighbourhood of £70m.
Keita, who was unknown barely three years ago when his team was relegated from French second division, has become an important player for Leipzig since he arrived from Salzburg, scoring eight goals in 31 appearances last season.
