
Following public condemnation of President Muhammadu Buhari’s response to the flood in Benue State, the president on Wednesday sent his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo to Benue in order to save face.
Osinbajo, who arrived Makurdi, the state capital was received by the State Governor, Samuel Ortom at the airport.
The Vice President will offer a belated sympathy to the recent flood victims, who are taking refuge at the Makurdi International Market.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY was informed that Mr. Osinbajo was at the residence of the Tor Tiv, Ocivirigh, James Ayatse, to pay homage before he visited the flood affected areas and Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camp.
“The Vice President visited some flood areas like Achusa, Rice mill all in Wadata,” a source said.
