Four people have been killed in Asaba, the Delta State capital by suspected gunmen, who invaded an Hausa/Fulani settlement around 10pm Friday night at the Abraka market within the Asaba metropolis.
Three men, one woman are among the dead while several others were injured.
According to Vanguard, the invading gunmen struck while people were asleep and shot sporadically.
They also threw bomb into a Mosque around an area called Cable point but a brave Hausa man reportedly picked up the bomb and threw it into the river before it could detonate.
Soldiers and policemen quickly intervened and chased the invaders away, the newspaper said.
The injured persons were said to have been taken to the hospital for treatment and the dead deposited at an undisclosed mortuary.
