
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari, still recovering from an undisclosed ailment, will depart New York on Thursday for London, where he is scheduled to see his UK doctors for medical check-up.
The embattled Buhari, accused by many of sending soldiers who killed unarmed pro-Biafra protesters, had addressed world leaders on Tuesday in New York at the 72nd session of UN General Assembly.
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY understands that the president will see his doctors on Saturday and then fly back to Nigeria after a check-up -depending on the outcome.
Meanwhile President Buhari has revealed what he discussed with President Donald Trump of the US in New York.
The US president had hosted selected African heads of state on Wednesday on the sideline of the United Nations General Assembly. Mr. Buhari said they discussed US support for Nigeria in the area of corruption and terrorism.
