Nnamdi Kanu’s Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Friday filed a suit before the Abuja Federal High Court challenging the controversial order of Justice Abdu Kafarati declaring the pro-Biafra group a terrorist organization.

Counsel to IPOB leader, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, disclosed this after filing the suit.

Mr. Ejiofor, in the motion, contended that the pro-Biafra group is a non-violent organisation and therefore the decision of the court to issue an ex-parte order was illegal.

According to the learned counsel, his client Kanu was not allowed fair hearing, adding that the court lacked the jurisdiction to grant such an order.

Justice Kafarati had shocked legal scholars when on Wednesday, he hurriedly granted an application by the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Abubakar Malami, proscribing the pro-Biafran group and declaring it a terrorist organization.
