Following the alarm bell rang by minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu, the Nigerian Senate on Wednesday set up a panel to probe the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Baru.
Mr. Kachikwu, in a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari, had accused Baru of awarding contract running into billions of dollars without due process and of insubordination.
The panel will probe the allegations levelled against Mr. Baru and also the policy introduced by the NNPC Trading Limited, a subsidiary of the corporation.
