The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officers, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni has confirmed that some gunmen on Monday stormed Mgbosimiri, Agip axis of Port Harcourt by 4am on Monday and killed 10 persons.
The early morning attack reportedly caused panic in the community. A couple died of gunshot injuries during the door-to-door raid. A nursing mother was said to have been killed too.
Corpses littered all over the area with some bodies burnt and others severed with bullets and machete cuts.
The reason for the attack is still unknown. But it is gathered that the assailants are suspected cultists.
