A lady, identified as Biodun Ilerioluwa has been arrested at Ogudu area of Lagos, for allegedly cutting off her neighbour’s tongue.
The victim’s name was given as Suleman Babangida.
The incident reportedly happened on Thursday, October 5th around midnight and it was alleged that Ilerioluwa did it for rituals.
Babangida, while narrating how he was attacked, said, “It was around 11:30pm when I came back home. Then when I was about to go and urinate at the bathroom, all of a sudden I just saw this lady that I usually call Ilerioluwa, at my back inside the bathroom.
“I was like sister Ileri what’s happening, all of a sudden, she just choked my neck and I could not have the strength to scream out extremely. All I could see next was that my tongue had been cut down.”
The woman was later arrested and the tongue retrieved from her.
She is now cooling off her ass at the Kirikiri prison, after her arraignment in court on Friday.
Talking about his precarious condition, Babangida added, “Right now I can’t even eat or take something. I am in pain. The tongue can’t be reattached any longer. I’m not in any relationship with Ileri.
“I respected her a lot and took her like a sister. She has nothing to say about what she did to me. The case has been adjourned till the 16th of this month.”
CHECKPOINTCHARLEY gathered that It was learnt that the 23-year-old Babangida was an errand boy to Ilerioluwa (unmarried woman). He helps her to buy food and deliver messages.
Though a source said that the two had an amorous relationship that turned soured after the victim’s mother intervened to end their affair, which seemed not to have gone down well with Ilerioluwa.
The victim’s mother, Hassanat Ali is the landlady of the building where both lived.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations, Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the incident. He also confirmed that the suspect had been charged to court on Friday.
The court remanded the woman in custody till October 18, 2017 when the matter is scheduled for hearing.
