Nigerians have taken to the Social Media to express their shock and anger over the unveiling a statue of South African President, Jacob Zuma in Owerri, Imo State and the conferment of a chieftaincy title – Ochagha di oha nma of Igbo Land – at the behest of Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The controversial governor also gave Mr. Zuma, facing corruption charges at home, the Imo Merit Award. It is the highest award in the State, usually given to honour persons who have distinguished themselves.
A street was also named after the South African president.
