Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West Senatorial district, on Wednesday dramatized his emotional plea to colleagues to save the people of Kogi state as the Government of Yahaya Bello allegedly owe civil servants up to 22 months salaries.
Mr. Melaye touchingly told his colleagues how civil servants in the state are being owed many months salaries and made reference to the director in the state civil service, Edward Soje, who recently committed suicide after being owed 11 months salary and after his wife of 17 years delivered a set of male triplets.
The senator also drew their attention to the viral video of an elder couple weeping over the loss of their child who required medical attention that they could not afford because the man is being owed many months salary.
Melaye finished by urging President Muhammadu Buhari and his colleagues to intervene as save Kogi people, who in his view, has become internally displaced persons due to the “satanic” regime of Governor Bello.
