
Ailing former Nigerian Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, has been finally flown abroad for medical treatment as ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Ekwueme was brought to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu at about 7:26am on Sunday in a National Orthopedic Hospital Enugu, SUV ambulance.
Vanguard reports that he was driven straight into the tarmac, where he was transferred into a waiting air ambulance with registration number N605 JA.
According to the report, the Air Ambulance had arrived the airport late Saturday evening and spent the night.
President Muhammadu Buhari had recently ordered a free foreign treatment for Ekwueme.
