President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe is now confronted with the imminent end of his 37-year grip on power, as, according to a party delegate, the once-loyal ZANU-PF ruling party sacked him on Sunday as its leader.
The embattled Mugabe was replaced by his former vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“A resolution has been adopted to recall the president and elevate Mnangagwa as the party president,” said the delegate.
