The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim.
It is understood that he was released on Tuesday. But the EFCC seized his passport and the former SGF was instructed to report to the commission every two weeks and also return some of the money traced to him.
“Anyim was released on administrative bail after he had surrendered his passport. He is expected to return some money to the EFCC and also report back every two weeks,” a source at the EFCC said.
The EFCC had arrested Mr. Anyim over allegation of contract fraud and false assets declaration.
The anti-graft agency had asked him to return N520m he allegedly collected from former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki or face prosecution.
