The democratic canditate Doug Jones has won the Alabama Senate race to hand President Donald Trump an embarrassing defeat after his failed gamble of sticking to the Republican candidate, Roy More, who multiple women accused of sexually abusing them when they were teenagers.
Later n a victory speech, Doug thanked the voters for helping him realise his life-long dream of serving in the US Senate. Interesting the victory came on his 25th wedding anniversary.
It is the first time a democrat will win Alabama, a densely conservative state, in decades. It is a devastating defeat for Trump and it also narrows his party’s majority in the senate to just two seats.
But Roy Moore has shown what a bad loser he is, by refusing to concede defeat, saying that the votes still needs to be certified.
