Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United is now officially in crisis after the Red Devils were held to a goalless draw at Old Trafford by Southampton that were thumbed 5-2 midweek by Tottenham Hotspurs.
Since the shock cup defeat at Bristol City on 20th December Man Utd have struggled and this is their third draw in a row. This is certainly too little for a club with title ambitions.
Notwithstanding the fact that striker Romelu Lukaku was stretchered off in the 13th minute with head injury.
Chelsea have now displaced United and are now second on the table after a convincing 5-0 hammering of Stoke City at the Bridge.
This now compounds Mourinho’s woes, whose team is now 14 points behind runaway league leaders, Man City.
Liverpool are three behind Mourinho’s men.
There were boos around Old Trafford after the final whistle. The clock may have started ticking for the Special One.
