UPDATED! Gunmen Invade Rivers Community, 21 Killed (GRAPHIC)

At least 21 persons have been reportedly killed in Aligwu community in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State and many other severely wounded after a group of unknown gunmen invaded the town Monday morning.

It is understood that the gunmen carried out the attack at Kirigani and Oboh areas of Aligwu community in Omoku.

The victims were attacked and killed on their way back from the Cross Over service, a community source said.

According to the source, the attack was allegedly led by the younger brother of an ex-Nigeria Delta militant Leader, Johnson Igwedibia popularly known as Don Wanny.

Recall that in October 2017 the Nigerian Army raided the home of Don Wanny in Aligwu, killing a number of his gang members and took over his luxury property.
Rivers State Police Command confirmed the attack.
Meanwhile the remains of the deceased persons have been deposited in a local morgue and the injured are being treated at the state government hospitals.
