Benue Youths Protest Herdsmen Killings

Angry Benue youths besieged major streets of Makurdi on Wednesday to protest the killings of people by Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday.

The aggrieved youths gathered at Food Basket Roundabout In Wurukum, wielding posters that called on President Muhammadu Buhari to “act now or resign.”

The protest led to a heavy gridlock in the area, causing traffic obstruction for motorists travelling through the axis to the north and southern regions of the country.

The youths almost mobbed the state governor, Samuel Ortom when he tried to calm them down at Wurukum junction in Makurdi.

They told the governor to send for President Buhari to come and address them, as they shouted on the governor, “no we don’t want to listen to you, send for Mr President to come and address us.”

It took a long time before the youths could calm down to listen to their governor.
