
Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed a traditional ruler in a fresh attack in Karmen community in Ibi local government area of Taraba State on Monday.
The elders in the community were reportedly having a meeting on how to secure themselves following the series of attacks witnessed in the state when some men, believed to be Fulanis, invaded the venue of the meeting and attacked them.
The armed Fulani men were said to have started shooting indiscriminately, killing the local chief using Fulani sticks.
The Caretaker Chairman of Ibi local government council, Hon. Bala Bako, confirmed the killing and said one person has been arrested in connection with the attack. He said investigation was ongoing.
According to him, hhe mobilised security men who went and evacuated the corpse.
