CHECKPOINTCHARLEY has been informed that armed herdsmen stormed Orin Ekiti in the early hours of Thursday, killed a pregnant woman and injured another person, who is currently being treated at an undisclosed local clinic.
It is understood that the woman, a Tiv from Benue State, was eight months pregnant.
A native of the town, who is a former Chairman of Ido/Osi Local Government, Prince Sanmi Olubummo, confirmed the attack.
According to him, policemen from Ido-Ekiti Divisional Headquarters visited the scene of the killing.
He said, “The incident happened inside the Orin Farm Settlement. Nobody knows what led to the crisis in the early hours of Thursday but our people said the Bororo herdsmen killed the pregnant woman.”
