The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday released the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Babachir Lawal, after 48 hours in their custody.
EFCC sources confirmed that he was released on administrative bail.
Mr. Lawal had been detained over alleged N223million contract fraud awarded at some IDP camps in Yobe State.
Lawal’s troubles began on December 14, 2016, when the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on humanitarian crisis in the North East’ indicted him of fraud. He was later sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari, following public outcry.
