President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met with the embattled National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun at the Presidential Villa.
The meeting was held behind closed doors.
This comes less than 24 hours after a national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu accused Odigie-Oyegun of sabotaging his efforts aimed at reconciling aggrieved party members as directed by the president.
Odigie-Oyegun refused to talk with journalist after the meeting but it is understood that it was to afford him the opportunity to respond to the serious allegations raised against him.
The crisis within the APC deepened on Thursday after Mr. Tinubu in a letter to Buhari accused the party chairman of undermining his efforts at reconciling party members.
