
The first civilian governor of Adamawa State, Abubakar Saleh Michika has reportedly died at the Federal Medical Centre Yola.
Michika died Saturday night after been in coma for several days.
A family source told the Vanguard that there were plans by his 36 children to fly him abroad for better treatment before his demise.
Michika, born in 1941 in Michika, headquarters of the Michika Local Government Area (LGA), was the first civilian governor of Adamawa State from 2 January 1992 to 17 November 1993.
He had worked with the British Bank of West Africa in 1966, then John Holt company before joining the politics.
