President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly cancelled his plan to attend the extraordinary meeting of African Union Heads of State and Government scheduled to hold in Kigali, Rwanda on Wednesday.
Mr. Buhari would have left Nigeria on Monday. But Presidency sources tell CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that the president is no longer likely to travel.
No reason was given for the change of plan.
it is understood that members of the President’s advance team were already in Kigali before the cancellation.
While the rest who were to travel on Saturday were recalled from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, where they were already gearing to take off from.
The president would have during the trip signed the framework agreement for establishing the Africa Continental Free Trade Area.
