
The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has ordered the immediate removal of Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ali Janga.
This followed the escape of six suspects from custody Wednesday morning.
In a statement by the police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, Mr. Idris disclosed that the policemen implicated in the escape are all facing serious disciplinary action for negligence, dereliction of duty and gross misconduct.
The IG also redeployed the Commander, Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state, the Divisional Police Officer ‘A’ Division, Lokoja and other police officers.
The six suspects were involved in the arms case against Senator Dino Melaye. They include, Kabiru Seidu a.k.a Osama, Nuhu Salisu a.k.a Small, Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.
