Senator Ovie Omo-Agege was on Wednesday arrested by men of the Nigerian Police for alleged theft of the senate mace.
The Senate had accused him of leading the armed men who stormed the chamber and snatched the mace while plenary was on.
He was immediately arrested after plenary and was led by the policemen from the door of the chamber into a waiting pickup van.
Recall that the lawmaker was suspended by the Senate for 90 days last week but he attended the plenary today in defiance.
