President Muhammadu Buhari has rewarded Festus Keyamo (SAN) for his support of his administration by appointing him and six others as members of the board of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Keyamo is to represent Delta State on the board.
President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, read the letter from Buhari at the plenary on Tuesday in which the president is seeking legislative approval for the appointments.
Recall that recently Keyamo had been appointed as the spokesman for the Buhari 2019 Campaign Organisation.
The Abuja based human rights lawyer, once a respected watchdog, has been a vocal support of the Buhari’s administration.
Many Nigerians had accused him of selling out and betraying his mentor, late Chief Gani Fawehimi.
But Keyamo was quick to point out that his former principal had once endorsed Buhari during an election in the past.
