Almost 24-hours after an embarrassing video of the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris surfaced online, showing him labouring with a speech at an event in Kano, the Nigerian Police on Thursday reacted on its twitter handle by sharing a video of Mr. Idris fluently reading another speech and accompanied it with a list of the schools he attended.
However, the Nigeria Police failed to address the issue by saying whether the video that set the Social Media ablaze was true or false. It is therefore unclear what the tweet was supposed to achieve.
Nevertheless, the schools listed which the IGP attended include:
IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni attended; St. Paul Primary Sch. Sokoto,
Govt Secondary School Farfaru, Sokoto, ABU Zaria
(BSc Agric Economics), University of Maiduguri (LLB),
NIPSS Kuru Jos.
The force also said that Mr. Idris is the author of “Security and Justice, the Pathway to Peace & Reconciliation in Nigeria”.
