A Zambian soldier, identified as Pathias Mwape, who felt betrayed by his wife, killed her after he discovered that two of the children who had been with him, were fathered by his superior officer.
The soldiers killed himself afterwards to evade police arrest.
The tragedy happened at the army barracks.
It is understood that due to whispers that two of his children were not his, he confronted the wife, a police woman, who confirmed that the two of the children were actually that of his superior officer.
On the spot, Mwape reportedly shot dead his wife, using a pistol and then later killed himself.
