Security operatives Wednesday morning foiled an attempt by members of the Biafra Zionists Federation, BZF, to take over Enugu Government House.
The Zionists led by their President, Barr. Benjamin Onwuka stormed the Government House as early as seven waving Biafran flags.
It is gathered that the pro-Biafra group had vowed to be at the Government House on Wednesday to declare Biafra Republic.
Wednesday, 30th of May is Biafra Remembrance Day and pro-Biafra groups like IPOB and MASSOB had issued a sit-at-home order.
However upon the arrival of the BZF members at Enugu Government House gate, they overwhelmed by a combined team of security operatives made up of the DSS, anti-terrorism squad, mobile policemen, SARS.
Onwuka and about fifteen other members of the group were arrested, as others escaped.
