Buhari Govt Will Be Remembered For Bloodshed, Atiku Says As He Declares Presidential Bid

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar declared his bid for the presidency on Saturday before a cheering crowd in his home state of Adamawa, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government would be remembered more for its bloodshed than any development it brought to citizens.

Mr. Abubakar announced before thousands in Yola town square that he will seek the Peoples Democratic Party ticket for president next February.

The former vice president, lamented the large-scale killings across the country in recent months.

He said, “Today, we are witnessing the most insecure atmosphere.

“More people died under APC than people killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Today, we have the highest unemployment rate in history of this country, more than one million of our youth are unemployed,” Mr Abubakar said, adding that the PDP would secure the country, ensure unity and security of life and property.

“Today, we are more divided than at any other time in Nigeria’s history.”

Mr Abubakar assured his listeners that the PDP would secure the country, ensure unity and security of life and property.

PDP chairman, Uche Secondus, Gbenga Daniel, Atiku campaign director, and Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, were also present at the rally.
