Embattled Benue State governor, who said he is being witchhunted by the Buhari government for dumping the APC got a rousing welcome on Thursday at the 81st National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s national secretariat in Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
Sources tell CHECKPOINTCHARLEY that as soon as the governor’s convoy arrived at the National Secretariat, many party members who were outside the Wadata House began chanting ‘Ortom, Ortom, Ortom’, ‘We love you’, ‘Welcome home’ etc.
And once inside the meeting hall, party chieftains warmly received Mr. Ortom with cheers and hugs.
Some of those in attendance, include the Governors who recently joined from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Senators Dino Melaye, Barnabas Gemade and Kwankwaso, were also present.
