nass

Security operatives from the Department of State Services, DSS, have lifted the siege on the National Assembly barely an hour after the sack of its controversial Director General, Lawal Daura.

The mask-wearing DSS officers, who blocked entrance to the National Assembly early Tuesday morning, in concert with police officers, left the assembly gate at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

Meanhwile, senator, Dino Melaye, has said that PDP senators will continue their vigilance until their APC colleagues back down on the plan to remove Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The senator, representing Kogi West, described Mr Daura’s sack as attempt to salvage the failed integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government.

However, some PDP senators had left the National Assembly after the exit of DSS operatives.

Among those who left, as at the time of filing this report, are Ben Murray-Bruce and Forster Ogola were.
