The Presidency has appointed Matthew B. Seiyefa as the Acting Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, after the sack of former DG, Lawal Daura who was accused of breaching security order by sending DSS operatives to seal the National Assembly Tuesday morning.
Mr. Seiyefa’s appontment was announced in a tweet on Tuesday via the verified Twitter handle of Presidency Nigeria @NGRPresident.
Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, had earlier met behind closed doors with Seiyefa around 4pm.
Until his appointment, he was the most senior director in the DSS.
Recall that Osinbajo had, while terminating Daura’s appointment, ordered him to hand over to the most senior official in the agency.
Seiyefa is from Bayelsa State.
