Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, have been seen in a video, uploaded on internet, celebrating the triumph over Nigeria’s democracy over tyranny and impunity of the Department of State Services, DSS, under disgraced former Director-General, Lawal Daura, who had sent operatives to take over the National Assembly Tuesday morning to facilitate the imepachment of Saraki and his deputy by APC senators loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The siege later ended in the day, when an embarassed Buhari Government moved to save face by sacking Mr. Daura as DSS director-general.
The lockdown of the National Assembly, which prevented a leadership a scheduled meeting of both chambers from holding, was widely condemned by Nigerians and the international community.
