
The former Director-General of the Department of State Security (DSS), Ita Ekpeyong, who was arrested on Thursday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been released on the same day.
Mr. Ekpeyong was picked up at his Asokoro residence Thursday afternoon his by EFCC detectives following a raid.
He was moved to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja for questioning, but was later released after being unable to provide much information about former director of the DSS, Lawal Daura.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had ordered a probe of both men. They are accused of corruption, as N7 billion belonging to the DSS remain allegedly unaccounted for during their times as director-generals
Daura had also been arrested and detained after being sacked by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday.
