CHECKPOINTCHARLEY has been informed of the vandalization of the new secretariat of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers state by unknown political thugs.
The destruction took place on Saturday, a source said.
The destroyed property was built and donated to the party by Senator Abe, who is at political loggerheads with the Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.
It is understood that both men parted political ways following Amaechi’s refusal to back Abe’s governorship ambition. The transport minister, a close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, is said to prefer Mr. Dakuku Peterside, the NIMASA director general, who was soundly beaten by Nyesom Wike in the 2015 governorship election.
