Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Igbo leader, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, will begin her quest for a seat in the Nigerian Senate as she kicks off her senatorial campaign for the 2019 Anambra South Senatorial District today.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium in the Aguata Local Government Area of the state.
The former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain will contest the senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Recall that her late husband led APGA for over a decade and was at several times the presidential candidate of the party.
But standing between Ojukwu’s widow and her ambition are oil magnate, Ifeanyi Uba and business mogul Nicholas Ukachukwu. The two men are also gunning for the same seat on the APGA platform.
However, it is understood that Bianca’s ambition has the blessing of the APGA hierarchy, who feel indebted to her late husband..
Bianca is the daughter of former Anambra State governor C. C. Onoh.
