
The suspected killers of catholic priest, Rev Fr. Jude Egbom have been arrested by operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State police command.
Fr. Egbom of St Patrick’s Catholic church, Amucha, in the Njaba Local Government Area of the state was on Monday night along Nkwerre-Anara Road shot dead by men suspected to be armed robbers and his vehicle stolen.
Imo State commissioner of police, Dasuki Galadanchi paraded the suspects on Thursday.
The suspects, Chigozie Uzoukwu, 33, and Peter Ochokwu, 21, according to the CP, were nabbed in Nkwerre on September 11.
Ochokwu, was an ex-convict who had spent one year in Owerri prison for alleged involvement in an armed robbery case, he said.
Mr. Galadanchi condemned the killing of the catholic priest, revealing that he had activated the Tactical Units of the command to arrest the fleeing criminals after they committed their dastard act.
According to him, the efforts of the command has been rewarded with the arrest of the two suspects, recovery of the priest’s vehicle and bag.
