Nigeria’s former finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, may have left the country, a day after her resignation, in a possible move to evade prosecution for alleged forgery.
A day after she stepped down, Mrs Adeosun departed the country, according to her associates who notified Premium Times of the development Saturday evening.
“She has left Nigeria,” the source told the newspaper. “She most likely is in the UK by now.”
Mrs. Adeosun was born and raised in the United Kingdom.
Her Nigerian line now rings in the Europe internal phone ringing effect.
Mrs Adeosun resigned on Friday following allegation of forging her national youth service scheme exemption certificate.
