The Nigeria Police on Wednesday made good their threat when they arraigned the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the September 22 election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for examination malpratice and impersonation.
Mr Adeleke was arraigned on Wednesday at a Federal High Court in Abuja on a four-count charge for alleged examination malpractice and presenting himself as a student of Ojo-aron community grammar school in his state in 2017.
He was charged alongside four other accused persons, including the school principal.
Senator Adeleke was however granted bail on self-recognizance by Justice I E, Ekwo, who ordered him to deposit his international passport with the court registrar and sign a bond that he will always be present at his trial.
Adeleke, who has filed a suit over the outcome of the Osun gov election to reclaim what he sees as his stolen mandate, had denied the allegation, saying it is politically motivated.
