The Democratic party has won the majority seats in the US house of Reresentatives in the November 6 midterm elections, a CNN projection has confirmed.
This is a major loss to President Donald Trump, whose party however succeeded in keeping its mmajority in the Senate.
The victory could spell trouble for Mr. Trump in view of the House investigative and subpoena powers, not to mention the power of impeachment, should there be indictment from the Robert Muller probe.
In the first two years of Trump’s presidency, the House under the Republican watch had failed in its oversight functions. That will surely change with the Democrats taking back control of the house.
