The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has detained a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and media advsier to Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign, Doyin Okupe.
This was disclosed in a tweet on Monday by the Peoples Democratic party, PDP, National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, saying it was the season of assault and harassment of PDP members.
He tweeted, “Media Adviser to the Director General of PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, @doyinokupe detained by the EFCC
“It is a season of assault, harassment and intimidation for the members of PDP. Details shortly.”
EFCC officials had on Saturday stormed the home of Doyin Okupe, in a failed bid to arrest him.
Mr. Okupe had said the EFCC operatives left after he promised to report to their office on Monday.
