Governor Rochas Okorocha has been suspended by the leadership of Imo State All Progressives Congress (APC) for “gross anti-party activities.”
This was disclosed to newsmen in Owerri, the state capital, on Thursday by the state Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Prince Marcellinus Nlemigbo.
He said the decision has been conveyed to APC National Chairman, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole.
Mr. Nlemigbo regretted that Okorocha who is the party’s Imo West Senatorial candidate, has vowed to undermine the APC and its electoral interest.
He said, “A letter by the Imo State chapter of the APC signed by the chairman conveyed the suspension to the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole. We regretted that Okorocha who is the party’s candidate for Imo West Senatorial District has vowed to undermine the APC and its electoral interest.”
The Imo State governor has been working to realize the governorship ambition of his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, who is running on the platform of the Action Alliance, AA.
